Bye Bye 1st Grade!

So proud of this big boy. He finished off his first grade year so strong. I can't believe this friendly, confident first grader is the same boy that I bribed to get on the bus each day last September. He changed so much this year, and really grew to love school. I pray that he'll never lose his love of learning!
We totally didn't plan for him to wear the same shirt on the first and last day, but it helps with comparison!
His teacher chose him for the "Excellent Achievement" award for his hard work all year.  It was so much fun to watch him go up front of the school and get his trophy at the awards ceremony.

We will miss Mr. Krueger!
Keaton with his friends Brooklyn and Mihn

Getting off the bus for the last time of 1st grade!
There were actual tears!

We celebrated with an ice cream party with some neighborhood friends.

Bubbles! We love Belmont Bay!
Oh, and he graduated to Wolf Cub a few weeks ago too!
Yay Keaton Ray!

Workmans visit VA!

How fun to host the Workmans in VA for the first time! Laura, Douglas, Lisa, and Grammie drove up with us after the Taylor Swift concert in Charlotte two weeks ago. We had a great week hanging out trying to beat the heat.
Keaton stayed up way past his bedtime most nights. Mark tried to hang in there, but it was hard!!
Not sure what's going on here, but something tells me Mark is responsible for the mess.
One of the highlights of the week was a trip to Madame Tussaud's wax museum in D.C. This was such a great choice for a hot day. Everyone from Mark to Grammie enjoyed seeing the realistic wax figures! One of the unique things about the D.C. museum is that they have a wax figure for each of the  44 presidents.
Crossing the Potomac with George Washington
Sitting with Lincoln at Fords Theater
Scott sitting with Lee while he surrenders to the Union
So nice of Barack and Michelle to pose with the family.
Keep dreaming, Mary!
Taylor!
Scott and Bob
All the presidents!
One evening after dinner, we took everyone to historic Occoquan for ice cream. I even got to do a little Senior photo shoot Laura while we were there. (yes, my flower girl is a senior in HS!!)

On Saturday our neighborhood had a little flag day celebration with a junior bike parade! The kids did crafts and decorated their bikes before the parade. We love Belmont Bay!!

Keaton was a leader!
go Mark!!

Family pic!
Chillin by the marina...wishing we had a friend with a boat!

Loves his mom!!
Keaton and Mark especially enjoyed going tot he pool with their big cousins! They had fun playing around with the underwater camera!

The boys were so sad (literally tears) to see them leave! Such a special time of cousin bonding!

7 months old!

Another month in the life of our Sailor June!

Her newest trick is that she can move from her belly (or hands and knees) to a sitting position all on her own!
Big girl!
Brown eyes like mom!
It seems that she's taking a break from sucking her fingers and instead likes to put all kinds of other things in her mouth. I remember that Mark did the same thing at this age. He spit out his paci and wanted to taste the world! It could also be that she's teething. She had 2 teeth appear in May!
Her favorite teether is actually a key chain that Grammy bought for her after she couldn't get enough of Aunt Jenny's!
Found her toes!
Hmmm...this tastes good too!

The remote! Yum!
She's eating really well lately. It seems that she's going to completely skip the baby food stage and move straight to table food. She has no use for sweet potato puree. Give me barbeque and baked beans, mom!
She also loves these little surfboard rice crackers!
Sitting in a high chair like a big girl!
One of the highlights of her day is the bus stop. She gets so excited when it finally arrives!

This is the expression he has when the bus pulls up! Keaton's bus driver is smitten.
She took her first airplane ride to Oklahoma for Memorial Day.  As long as I kept the toys and snacks flowing, she did pretty well. Her favorite was walking the aisle and greeting everyone!

First airplane ride to Oklahoma. She did great!
She's getting more and more mobile everyday. If there's something on the floor within about 4 feet of her, there's no stopping her! She's hasn't really coordinated the knee/arm movements, but she scoots around on her belly like a woman on a mission. It's pretty hilarious to see how determined she is.

Scotting around the house!
We were able to take our first trip to the pool last week. She was cautious in the water, I think mostly because she's used to the warm bath water. She enjoyed it for the most part, as long as no one splashed her!
I think my favorite part was dressing her up in this adorable swimsuit and hat that used to be Mary Elizabeth's! She looked precious!
Mama's girl!

Other Sailor June activities:
hanging out in the toy basket!
Picnic with Mark!
Lots of laughs with brothers!
I overheard Keaton cuddling with Sailor this morning and he said to her, "You're the greatest gift!"
I would argue to say the she's one of 3 greatest!
