Waves

Since we moved to Hawaii, we've been dying to see some real Hawaii surfing waves. But these only really come around in the winter and only on certain parts of the island.  On Saturday we decided to drive over to the west coast of Oahu where the waves were projected at 12-16 ft. We really were just out for a drive, and did not expect to get in any beach time. Since we knew the surf would be rough, I did not want Keaton anywhere near that water. Little did we know, it would turn into the perfect beach day, and we would stumble upon the most amazing little tide pool for Keaton to play in. We were totally unprepared with not a single swimsuit, bucket, or shovel in the van.  We made the best of it though. We stripped Keaton down to his skivvies and let him go to town in the sand and water.

Lesson learned:  when you live in Hawaii, ALWAYS keep a beach kit in the car for occasions such as these!

Keaton had a blast and we got to see some pretty amazing waves crashing in the distance.

They look much bigger in person!

Even Mark had fun! The sound of crashing waves had a miracle calming affect on our little Hawaiian baby.
