Finally, a haircut!

Keaton finally let us get his hair cut yesterday! It has been a good 4 months since our last try (which ended with a screaming crying toddler, a mess of Skittles slime mixed with tears all down his face, and a half-haircut), so he had quite the mop-top going on. After prepping him for days with all kinds of bribes and promises, he sat like an angel on my lap, ate his lollipop, and let Charlene snip his locks. I wish I had a good "before" picture to show you how bad it had really gotten, but here's some pictures that we took of him at the park today that show off his new do. I'm always amazed at how a haircut makes him look so much less of a baby and more like a little boy. I'm just happy I can see those beautiful blue eyes again!

Sad Day

On Friday, we put 5425 Village Way on the market. This was our first house together, so although we are so excited about our new Hawaiian adventure, it definitely makes me a little teary-eyed to look at that sign out in the yard. This is a REALLY bad time to sell a house in Nashville, as it is in most areas of the country. We will almost certainly take a big hit on this sell, but we have confidence that God will be faithful in providing a buyer. This is one of our biggest prayer requests!

Grandma Andy's 90th

Today is Scott's Grandma's 90th birthday! We had the pleasure of celebrating with her this past weekend in Greenville. We had a party for her on Saturday with plenty of family, friends, and several surprise guests!

Doesn't she look great?

Here she is with all of her great-grandchildren at Christmas

Snow!

It has been so cold here in Nashville the past few days, but we can't complain because we also had beautiful snow showers on Friday and Saturday! Today, we bundled up and took Keaton outside to walk around in it. His first step onto the slick driveway landed him flat on his back. After a quick cry on Mama's shoulder, he was trudging through the snow like a pro. He really loved that we let him walk in the street for a change. I think he would have stayed out in the 20* temps all day if we let him! Brrrr...to cold for Mom!

You'll notice he has a war wound under his left eye from a fight he got into with a chair over at his friend Noah's house last night.

Happy New Year!

Wow, did it sneak up on anyone else that this is not only a new year, but the start of a new decade? I think about all that has happened to me in the last 10 years. I met my future husband, graduated college, got married, had my first job, rented our first apartment, moved to Nashville, bought our first house, had our first child...whew!

Think about how different our country is! Remember 10 years ago when it was a luxury to own a cell phone? Now its perfectly normal (and expected) for 8 yr olds to have their own. Remember what is was like to have your family pick you up at the airport gate? Now we must go through a full body scan to pass through security even when you hold a ticket!

I have no profound thoughts as we enter the 20teens other than God is good, God is in control, and He promises good for those who love Him. Who knows what amazing things we have in store for the next 10 years?

here's a funny pic from New Years Eve. My parents, brother and sister came to Nashville to bring in the new year with us.

Happy 2010!
