I may have a little artist on my hands!

DPP: Day 5

I was trying to get a shot of Shelly's view of the Christmas tree, but just like my other kiddos, she wouldn't be still for the camera. I love that she's so colorful, that she blends right in with the lights!

By the way, she's the perfect pet, and I love her!

DPP: Day 4

I didn't get my camera out today, but I did happen to pull out my phone to snap a shot of this sign. Gas has been under $4/gal for going on a month now.

Merry Christmas to us!
the price of living in paradise...

Since this is a pretty lame photo, I'll share a funny clip that gives a little snapshot from our day. We helped with childcare for BSF Leaders meeting this morning. We wore the kids out by making them race each other in burlap sacks! Keaton's such a gracious loser...

DPP: Day 3

"That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
And that includes Woody and Shrek and Batman, and Big Bird...

DPP: Day 2

Don't laugh! We went for a real tree this year for the first time in many years, and since we are spending this Christmas in Hawaii, we decided to go island style and get a Norfolk pine. These trees are everywhere on the North Shore, so we actually drove up there yesterday and picked it out! They are kinda funny looking, but there's something kinda funky and so very untraditional about these trees that makes me smile.

We brought almost no Christmas decorations with us to Hawaii, so what's on this tree are the few ornaments we've accumulated over the past three years. As you can see, we still need a tree skirt, and a star (or a star fish?), but of course none of this matters to Keaton. He says "It's the most beautiful Christmas tree I ever saw in my whole life!"

Here's a pic of us yesterday in front of our tree right before we cut it down!

December Photo Project: Day 1

Since I'm on a roll, might as well participate in the December Photo Project again this year!

Here's my first. We were up on the North Shore today trying to find Lost beaches (more on this excursion later). We spotted this lazy honu in the sand.

See that look he gave us? I swear he ways saying, "Seriously, Haole? Move it along. I'm trying to nap here!"

30 days of thanks: Day 30

Wow! Already day 30!

Today I'm thankful to report that there may be hope for Keaton after all. I know that after this post, you guys were worried about his lack of interest in spiritual things. :-)
On our way home this afternoon, he informed me that he'd like to "remember God more." (okay?) Not really sure what that means, but He asked specifically if I could check Netflix to see if there are any shows about "God stories!"

I'm on it, KRay!

I can't believe it's the last day of November and there's still so much I have to be thankful for:  my parents, my family, my inlaws, my health, the health and safety of my loved ones, my soft bed, always feeling loved, never knowing real hunger or want... the list could go on and on. Thanks for reading along. God has blessed me so greatly, and its such a good practice for me to intentionally look for his goodness in my every day life.
